April,1 2015--New Nashville North Entertainment is pleased to announce the video release for country-rock artist Glenn Stewart’s new single “(Here It Comes) Around Again” co-starring RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Joslyn Fox (S6), JuJubee (S2), Kelly Mantle (S6), Jade Jolie (S5), Monica Beverly Hillz (S5), Jade Sotomayor (S1), Jaidynn Diore Fierce (S7), plus Karmen De La Rouge and Leah Halston from PLAY Louisville.

Around Again was recorded by Glenn Stewart for his recently released CD, Breaking Boundaries. According to a review in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, Stewart takes the dance track, written by Lucian Piane and RuPaul  and “turns it to country gold . . . passionately and convincingly tapping into the heart of the lyrics and unearthing intimate emotion and urgency.”
The video release marks the second collaboration of “Country Meets Drag” between Stewart and RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Joslyn Fox.  Stewart says “If you are a fan of great country-rock music, or a fan of Drag Race, or any of the queens on our roster, you will love the videos we are releasing.”

Stewart says two versions of the video will be released. One version will have an interesting storyline, featuring Stewart as a single guy looking love, helped out by the gorgeous girls on stage, but also as their non-drag personas in other scenes. “It doubled the cast to have the girls in and out of drag for the story, which has the ‘boys’ and the ‘girls’ helping me find the love of my life. It’s really fun to watch the ‘boy drag’ scenes and identify the queens. They were all such great sports to film in and out of drag over the three days of the video shoot.”

The second version of the video will be a performance video, which will include live stage performances of Stewart singing the song, plus a lot of footage of the girls performing with him to the song. “It was difficult to choose which performances to use because the girls really amped things up for us,” says Stewart. “After talking with videographer Chris Gibbs, we agreed we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave so much great video on the cutting room floor, so we decided two versions of the video would be released. This gives us a chance to tell the story we want, plus showcase the talents of the amazing queens performing with me. Nothing like this has been done before, so it’s exciting to push that envelope.”

The roster of the queens for this video is impressive: Joslyn Fox, JuJubee, Kelly Mantle, Jade Jolie, Monica Beverly Hillz, Jade Sotomayor, Jaidynn Diore Fierce, Karmen De La Rouge and Leah Halston.  In 2014, Stewart and Joslyn Fox teamed up for a video of Stewart’s first single, Little Miss John Wayne. “Joslyn Fox was perfect for that video,” says Stewart. “A drag queen in a country music video is unconventional. To have Joslyn Fox, a highly talented, nationally recognized, in-demand drag entertainer starring in a country music video was groundbreaking. We are doing something that’s never been done before.”

Stewart is excited about continuing the connection between country music and the drag queen world, and breaking down boundaries in what is a traditionally conservative market. By doing a video of a RuPaul cover with nine drag queens from multiple seasons of the reality show and the club where the video was shot, Stewart is bridging that gap. “I’m a huge fan RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Joslyn and I knew a video with additional queens would be fun, especially for this song. ‘Country Meets Drag’ means having these amazing queens like Joslyn and JuJubee in our video. It’s another ground breaking move, to get ALL audiences, not just Drag Race fans, to see the video and appreciate great music.”
